For your older Scouts, Varsity Scouts and Venturers, the Tahosa Alpine Adventure Trek is a true backcounty mountaineering adventure. Backpack thirty to fifty miles in the Indian Peaks Wilderness with a trained guide while learning all about mountaineering skills and practices. Glissade down snow fields in July. More excitement can include rock climbing in a true backcountry environment, learning about weather patterns and ecology of the area, summit peaks of over 13,000 feet in elevation and experience the backcountry adventure of a lifetime.
The Alpine Adventure Trek program of the Denver Area Council, Boy Scouts of America is an equal opportunity service provider and a permittee of the Roosevelt National Forest. The program is designed for Scouts, Explorers and Venturers aged 13 and up by January 1 of that respective year.
All camp participants, including adults, must have medical exam prior to camp and present a completed BSA Health Form upon arrival at camp. Youth 17 and under must complete the Colorado Addendum. Resident camp is for registered Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts who are 11-17 years old and their leaders.
